This day in 1929 when Declaration of India Independence (purna swaraj) was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress opposed to the Dominion status offered by the British Regime.
It noted that through India gained freedom from the British rule after a long struggle in the wee hours of August 15 , 1947.pandit jwaharial Nehru delivered his famous speech 'Tryst with Destiny'. declaring India's Independence to the citizens. But sadly this freedom did not come along with democracy and the right to choose along by government.
Since India didn't have an official Constitution then, our country was a Constitutional monarchy under the rule of king George VI even after Independence. It was finally after two and half years later on 26 jan 1950 , when the India Constitution come into effect. Thus making India one of the biggest democracies country in the world. It was the day when India declared sovereign, socialist or secular Democratic Republic. And then it celebrate gratefully through out the country on every year 26 jan .
This day is celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm through India . Every year this day grand parade is held in new delhi. This is starts from raisina hill near to Rajpath Bhavan(President Palace) ie India gate to The Red fort. The different regiments of the India army,air force,or navy participate in this. The president of India, who is the commander-in - chief of the all armed forces takes the solutes or address the nation.
On this day indians proudly fly tricolour flag sing patriotic song(Vande Matram Or Jan gan man) and pay tribute to all the freedom fighters who sacrifice their life in order to gain the freedom.
